I pray you and your family had a safe and memorable 4th of July. Our family got together with several good family friends and enjoyed grilling out, complete with sparklers and piles of watermelon. As I sat there watching my kids & their friends run around laughing, while holding my dear friend’s new 2-week old baby I started to tear up. We are SO VERY BLESSED to live in a free country and have the joys of Christian friendship and fellowship. I sometimes look to the world and feel small and overwhelmed – there is so much bad out there. But then holding baby Amelia, a beautiful new soul in God’s kingdom, and holding her tiny hands and adoring her perfect button nose, while seeing the pride and love of her family around her, I was filled with awe in all the GOOD and hope for the future God has given us. This may be a hurting world, but we have great JOY knowing that we have nothing to fear, God loves us, daily blesses us, and is preparing a home for us in heaven someday.
I told my friends in that moment that I felt like the richest person alive. To be surrounded by Christian friends to enjoy the good times with – and count on for help in the bad times . . . and to have the simple gifts of shelter, healthy food, and time to slow down and spend together . . . that is true wealth.
So encourage one another with the hope you have. Build each other up. In fact, that’s what you are doing. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:11
I am happy to share with you that our 2024 Pork shares are now open for reservation. We are raising 5 hogs this year and keeping 1 for our family freezer, so we have 4 going into the butcher the end of August you can reserve a 1/2 or whole hog from.
Our pastured pork is flavorful & juicy. Our freezer has been without bacon for too long and I am excited to restock.
Our family is proud of how much time our pigs spend outside just being pigs – they’re happier and healthier for it, and the pork that came from previous pigs we’ve raised this way has been exceptional.
