I’ve been blessed to witness a remarkable event here on the farm I want to share with you today—the migration of monarch butterflies. Thousands of these beautiful creatures stopped by our pastures this past week, resting and refueling on the clovers and wildflowers that grow abundantly. I was moving our flock through the field and hundreds of them flushed up into the air around me, filling the moment with unexpected life.
Just last week during a milk pick-up, an adventurous 3-year-old walked through the front pasture to visit our sheep & goats with her dad. Her eyes lit up, and with delight, she said, “I love butterflies!” Her happiness was contagious, and in that moment, I was reminded of the awe and beauty of God’s creation that surrounds us daily.
Watching the butterflies dance in the breeze, flitting between flowers and across our fields, is nothing short of magical. It feels like a glimpse of heaven, where everything is connected, cared for, and in perfect harmony. These tiny, delicate creatures are drawn to the same pastures that supports our grazing cows, sheep & goats and it’s a reminder of how connected all life is. Here, we strive to create a safe haven for these creatures along their life journey—and for you, too. Just like the butterflies, we all need places to rest, refuel, and reconnect with the beauty around us..

Dear Lord, thank You for the incredible beauty of Your creation, for the butterflies that remind us of the transformation & renewal we experience through Christ, and His abundant grace. May we always find rest in Your presence and remember that You guide our journey. Amen.
